Some Detroit is heeding the warning of health professionals and government officials to stay home. God has given them to us to lead in situations like this. We also want to love and care for those that are more susceptible to COVID-19 in times like this.

We see this as a great opportunity to be courageous and address the fear around us. Let’s be ready for gospel conversations with people that don’t have the hope of Christ as we all fear sickness (and death at times). This is great time to be grounded deeper in the gospel, face our fears, and show the world around us what our God is like!
We already know that the church is not about a building, and our “way” of being the church lends itself to great flexibility in bringing the church to people wherever they are at. This gives us an opportunity to serve, love and reach our neighbors and network in this time of need.
Remember that Jesus is in control of this life and the next, and through Christ alone we can be sure of eternal life. As a bonus, there will be a day that there will be no more sickness or death!
Let's remember the words of our great pastor, Jesus,
“Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" - John 11:25-26 ESV
